Helpful Tips for the Homeowner

We have now been in business for 8 months! We want to say, "Thank you"!!! to all of our clients that have trusted us and used our services! During that time we have learned some things that we think will be helpful for everyone. We know you pay good money to get a clean house and we want the results of our clean to last you! The points  below we believe will help keep your houses clean longer and to help us be more detailed in our cleaning.

Helpful Tips...

1. Change air filters regularly - priority on dusting is the #1 request we get from our clients and changing the vents on a regular basis makes all the difference! According to the experts, homeowners should change their air filters as listed below...

  • "Average" suburban home w/o pets: every 90 days
  • Add a dog or cat: every 60 days
  • Add more than one pet or have allergies: 30-45 days
This may seem a little extreme (and somewhat expensive) but you will feel as though your home stays clean for so much longer!

2. Clearing/organizing counters, desks and other surfaces - This allows us to be able to thoroughly clean/scrub rather than lightly dust those areas without the worry of disturbing your personal items.

3. Wash bath mats - This may seem silly... but when we clean a bathroom no matter how much we shake and vacuum bath mats they never really seem as clean as the rest of the bathroom. Some of our clients put their mats in the wash when they know we are coming and we have seen such a difference in how clean the bathrooms feel!

4. Our cleaning best friends - Here are the items we use in every house to make it look, feel, and smell amazing!

Whip It Miracle Cleaning Solution - this is an amazing product that we use as our cleaner on tile floors, counter tops, toilets, and greasy stains/spills. It leaves everything smelling amazing and YES it is chemical free!

Mr Clean Eraser - This is how we get your tubs, countertops, sometimes even mirrors, baseboards, sinks (especially stainless steel), and stovetops (especially gas) looking brand new! This little guy removes stains like nothing we have ever used before.

Olive Oil - You are probably wondering "what in the world"?!? But yes, olive oil works amazingly to rejuvenate your stainless steel appliances. We usually use the Mr. Clean Eraser first to remove smudges, food and fingerprints. Then a little dab of olive oil on our microfiber cleaning cloth will polish and shine without leaving a streaky residue. SO MUCH CHEAPER than stainless steel cleaner and we think it works better!!!

Dyson Hard floor vacuum - We don't use brooms on hard floors before sweeping because no matter how long or good of a sweeper you are dust and such will be missed. This vacuum is amazing. It is able to get that annoying dust film you would feel if you only swept the floor. This allows our mopping to not look streaky and your floors are cleaner! You may hear us refer to this as the mouse... because it looks like one. :)

Bissell carpet vacuum - This vacuum is worth every cent and then some. It has a wide (15") cleaning width and the suction is amazing! The brush is able to be turned off for those delicate rugs (cowhide/handmade) and we love how you can detach the canister from the upright for easy use on stairs. We LOVE this vacuum and it rivals the $500+ vacuums any day!
